Transforming Hate into Love Ritual

This year has been heavy when it comes to change. If you have been putting off what you need to do, you are defiantly feeling the pull. When things are changing, it brings out the worst in us. Fear, hate, insecurities come out full force, and because it’s uncomfortable, or something we are refusing to do, you are prone to lashing out.

The past few months for me have been vital in my personal growth process. Even though cute-short-love-quotes-1pulling out your deepest layers of funk is not pleasant, it’s the most important step in personal growth and transformational magic. Transformational magic is what I teach at Smudge. You are the driving force behind your magic. You have the power within yourself to create the reality you desire, and we have the tools to help you achieve that.

Now is the time to look inside and change and heal what is standing in your way. One of the biggest obstacles we run into is love. Self love is something that I think most people lack in one aspect or another. When you really peal back layer after layer of what is holding you back from achieving everything you want, you will find that it comes back to love.

Why do you make every excuse in the book not to work out or eat right? Because you don’t love yourself enough to put your health first. Why do you keep going back to that guy who loves you so much but puts you down and flirts with your friends? You don’t love yourself enough and think that this is all you are worth. Why do you sit and put yourself down when you see another with things you judge as “better than” what you have? You don’t love-is-you-love-30949107-960-854love yourself enough to see what beauty and blessings you already have. Do you find yourself beating yourself up verbally and emotionally because you make a mistake or your life isn’t where you want it to be?  Stop right now because you are only human and you need to love yourself wherever you are at.

We all do things every day that perpetuate hate whether we are aware of it or not. Whether its towards others or ourselves. If we compare who is more enlightened, or who meditates the most, or let’s be honest here…who puts on the bigger perfect front…we are spreading hate. If we judge, compare, send out vindictive thoughts or actions…we are spreading hate.   So what can we do to change this destructive energy and change it into love?

After working for the last few months on self love and discovery, a friend of mine posted a blog on turning love into hate.  It was perfect timing for me along with several friends of mine and numerous customers who are going through change and are finding it hard to keep love in the equation. It’s so easy to give up, complain, lash out at others, or emotionally beat on ourselves. It’s time to change these patterns.

Change involves a conscious choice to be aware of our thoughts and actions and then make love-233aan effort to replace what we don’t want with what we want. For instance, when you find yourself saying to yourself…I’m not good enough, I ate that extra piece of cake and I’m a failure, replace that with…I’m perfect the way I am, I metabolize my food perfectly to my body, I love myself.

I am joining my friend Jackie Smith on Wednesday in a ritual to replace hate with love. Here are the tools that she shares in her blog:

Here are the tools in a nutshell:

1.Recognize your own hate. Know where you hate, own where you hate and ask yourself if that hate is of benefit to you.

2.Practice random acts of kindness. It is easy to be kind to strangers or people who are nice to you, it is more challenging to be kind to people who are not pleasant to you, or people who are outside of your comfort zone.

3.Avoid perpetuating hate; turn it into love (even in social media). This is a hard one. How do you transform your anger into love, especially when you see someone go off in the wrong direction? What do you do when someone mouths off in a hateful way and you have a burning need to stop them in their tracks?

4.Avoid gossip – and correct yourself when you discover you have done it. Gossip is as simple as observing and sharing your observations. Gossip is when you are repeating information that is none of your business.

5.Make amends and forgive yourself. There are those old reactions to past relationships hanging out, affecting our present and being the filter that we are judging all interactions. Forgiveness is when you stop defining your future from your past experiences.

6.Stop hating on yourself. How many times a day do you criticize yourself? Call yourself fat, dumb, ugly or berate yourself for a mistake? Stop it. When you hate on yourself you are filling your soul with pain and when it becomes too much, all you can do is pass that pain onto another.

On April 27th – throughout the day, we are joining together, along with anyone else who would like to join in feeding the love in the world. At 6pm EDT, I will be doing a simple ritual where we transform our fear and hatred into love. It is a very simple ritual where we write down the fear and hate we feel on a pieces of paper, anoint that paper with Healing Oil and then using the ashes to write messages of love to share with others.

You can join us at the Candlewick Shoppe in Ferndale Michigan, or Smudge Metaphysical in Windsor, Ontario for our drop in ritual, or you can join in wherever you are with your own ritual, or join us in thought throughout the day in love.
